Our team, hailing from sunny Tampa, is thrilled to bring the Coconut Pirates and the Coconut Cruiser to life for this year's Red Bull Flugtag. The inspiration behind our theme combines Tampa's rich maritime history with a playful tropical twist.
Pirates have long been a part of Tampa’s culture, most famously celebrated during the annual Gasparilla festival (USA’s 3rd largest parade), where the city embraces its pirate lore with full enthusiasm. But, what’s a pirate without a tropical vibe? That's where the coconuts come in! We wanted to capture the spirit of adventure, fun, and the island atmosphere that Tampa's coastal identity brings.
The Coconut Pirates embody the fusion of daring explorers and laid-back island life, representing the lighthearted and adventurous spirit of our city. So, as we set sail (or, more accurately, fly), we’ll be embracing our inner pirates, coconuts in hand, ready to take on the skies with a wink and a bit of Tampa flair!
